Prefabrication Primers

A thin sprayed coating for the immediate temporary protection of steel blast cleaned to a minimum Sa 2½ – suitable for subsequent welding, cutting and forming of steel.

Surface preparation

Steel

  • degrease where necessary to remove weld flux and general contamination prior to blasting
  • blast clean to Sa 2½ maximium profile 75 microns

Vessels in prefabrication primer

  • tank sections shot blasted and a coat of prefabrication primer applied
  • items require more work on site prior to erection
  • the full paint system to be applied on completion of work
