Polyurethane System

Polyurethane paint has excellent performance characteristics, adhesion, hardness, gloss and flexibility as well as resistance to abrasion, impact and weathering, acids and solvents. These properties make them ideal for use in D.O.T. applications.

Surface Preparation

Steel

  • degrease where necessary to remove weld flux and general contamination prior to blasting
  • blast clean to Sa 2½  maximium  profile 75 microns

  • 1st coat: a high-solids, zinc phosphate primer applied to 75 microns dft
  • 2nd coat: a two-component, re-coatable, aliphatic polyurethane, glass finish applied to 60 microns dft giving a tough, durable finish – combining good anti-abrasion properties with exceptional weathering characteristics
