Paint Finishing/Protective Coatings

With 30 years experience in the application of paint finishings and protective coatings, Interblast has an excellent reputation for top quality workmanship and meeting delivery dates.

Interblast's philosophy is based on acute awareness that the effective life of any paint system is extended with the correct choice and implementation of a sound surface preparation. Dependant on whether the surface to be treated is new construction or maintenance and repair, the substrate can vary so widely in terms of contamination such as mill scale, oil and grease, soluble salts, etc. These must be removed correctly prior to the application of the coating system.

Man-handling winches

  • blast cleaned to SA 2½
  • 1st coat: a quick-drying, high-build, 2-pack, epoxy, zinc phosphate primer/build coat – providing anti-corrosive protection of carbon steel
  • 2nd coat: a high-build, 2-pack, modified epoxy coating – a hard-wearing, abrasion-resistant coating with excellent resistance to immersion in salt and fresh water and crude oil, for the protection of ships’ bottoms and cargo tanks and submerged and splash zone areas of marine structures, jetties etc. and for the external protection of buried and other pipelines
  • 3rd coat: a high-performance, fast-drying, acrylic urethane gloss finish – a final coat in conjunction with epoxy or polyurethane-based protective systems for new construction or maintenance purposes, with excellent tolerance to low-temperature curing conditions
