Epoxy Resin Based System
Epoxy coatings are used in industrial and marine settings where their toughness and chemical resistance give high performance protection.
Examples
British Rail Tank
- blast cleaned to SA 2½
- 1st coat: a high-build, 2-pack, epoxy zinc phosphate primer/build coat – an anti-corrosive protection of carbon steel surfaces prepared by abrasive cleaning applied to 250 microns dft to produce both primer and build coat in one single coat – for use on internal and external exposed conditions including offshore and petrochemical and sub-sea environments
- 2nd coat: a high-performance, fast-drying, acrylic urethane gloss finish to 75 microns dft
Ejector Assembly
- blast cleaned to SA 2½
- 1st coat: a two-component epoxy anti-corrosive primer pigmented with zinc phosphate
- 2nd coat: a high-build, two-component epoxy, pigmented with micaceus iron oxide for enhanced corrosion resistance and improved overcoating properties after ageing
- 3rd coat: a quick-drying, two-component epoxy
Pulp and Paper
- blast cleaned to SA 2½
- 1st coat: a 2-pack, epoxy, zinc-rich, anti-corrosive primer
- 2nd coat: a 2-pack, epoxy, high-build undercoat – widely approved for the treatment of offshore structures
- 3rd coat: a 2-pack, isocyanate-free, acrylic, epoxy-resin, gloss finish
De-compression Chamber
- blast cleaned internally and externally to SA 2½
- 1st inside coat: a two-component, metallic, zinc-rich, epoxy primer – a high performance primer to give maximum protection as part of any anti-corrosive coating system for aggressive environments including those found on off-shore structures, petrochemical facilities, pulp and paper plants, bridges and power plants
- 2nd inside coat: a high-build, high-performance, two-component, epoxy finish with excellent chemical and abrasion resistance
- 1st outside coat: a fast-set, low temperature cure high-build epoxy zinc phosphate primer
- 2nd outside coat: a two-component, aliphatic polyurethane gloss finish
